Portrait - alternative to my dog.........

Taken at the Mansion the day before our group outing. Shot in colour but altered to b/w to try out the effect. Andrew really liked this shot - which was a big bonus........thought the glasses on his head added the bit of quirkiness we are both known for....

    Hi Penni,

    Really nice portrait shot. Did you use a Large aperture to blue the background?

    Question to David C, would this be a good example of when you could use a home made or purchased reflector to brighten the subject's face and keep the sun behind him?

    I like this photo. It captures a gentle expression and the glasses up top as you say give expression to a playful nature. Even if you didn't know Andrew this photo would at a glance tell you quite a bit about him.

    I think Andrew must be gratified that you regard him as an "alternative to the dog", although I fancy he will never be a rival to Big Ted.
